Grounded in a developmental psychopathology framework, my program of research utilizes longitudinal data to investigate factors that attenuate or exacerbate youth’s risk for peer victimization and aggression and their associated negative outcomes. A major focus of my work is devoted to better understanding the roles of individual-level factors, including emotion regulation processes, co-occurring internalizing symptoms, and coping strategies, in relation to children’s experiences of victimization and involvement in aggressive behavior. Yet, I also apply an ecological perspective in my research and examine contextual risk and protective factors at the parent, peer, school, and community levels.
